His name is MAX!

Yes, so now you’ve met my new love. But I never did get to tell you his name, right?

Well, his name is MAX. I have my own private pet name for him but for the world, this shiny, new hunk of metal is MAX – short for My Apple Xtreme! πŸ™‚

I guess having the power of the earlier Macbook Pros makes my baby qualify to be called Xtreme (at least till the next more powerful model comes along!).

It was also as close to a man’s name as I could think of and quite close to “Mac”, which he is. And it also reminds me of Max Alvarado whom you would either love or hate for his contrabida roles in Pinoy movies till his death in 1997. I used to be amused when he did comedic roles as a bad guy and the name Max does conjure images of a bouncer.

Do you give names to your laptops? Do share them with me so I know Max is not alone…

  1. My notebook is Pu Ming which really means “no name” after Jet Li’s character in Hero. πŸ™‚

Jane: Hi Yel. What a unique name your notebook has! You must be an ardent fan of Jet Li. I like him too.

  2. Hi Jane! I’ve been a Mac addict since the 128K version that came out the year Bud and I got married, 1984. Right now my beloved πŸ™ Powerbook G3 is ooooollllllllddddd and is just at the edge of obsolescence. But…maybe we can be together for another six months…then I’ll get Max’s cousin! πŸ™‚

I just added you to my blog roll. I was on Facebook kanina..there are a lot of Wharton classmates there. πŸ™‚

    Love always,

    Kathleen

Jane: Kathleen, you don’t know just how happy I am every time you leave a comment. It makes me miss my super dear friend so so much but it also makes me feel close to you in spirit. I am looking forward to the time you get Max’s cousin. Then maybe we can bridge the miles between us via webcam!

Are there really many of the Wharton guys in Facebook? Hmmm, i have not opened mine in a while. Maybe it’s time I do…

  3. BTW, you look beautiful. Are you a vegetarian yet? I’m asking that because that seems to be the natural progression with yoga afficionados. I wish I were in Manila and I would follow you around for days. You look like you are having so much fun.

Alam no na dito sa Estados Unidos, iba ang buhay. It’s fun na rin in its own way. Manila is hopping though, like NYC. My panganay moved to NY two months ago and is having big city fun like you!

    Take care,

    Kathleen

Jane: My dearest Kathleen! Thank you so much for your sweet words. No, I am not yet a vegetarian and am not sure if I ever will be. But yoga has DEFINITELY changed my eating habits. No more lechon kawali and crispy pata for me! Sodas are a thing of the past. And I eat more veggies and fruits nowadays.

Next time you come visit, let’s try to attend a blogger event and I will introduce you to my blogger crowd. They are wonderful Pinoys you are sure to have fun talking with. Miss you much. I remember those days when we would spend (or waste) time just talking the night away…..

Let me know what you think!
